dc.description.abstractTHE problem of the "salaried employee" was discovered in Germany during the epoch of struggle and inflation at the end of World War I. In turn, the white collar problem was a facet of the larger question of the fate of the entire middle class, not only in Germany, but anywhere in modern industrial society.
