Natural Law, Justice and Democracy-Some Reflections on Three Types of Thinking About Law and Justice

Abstract

This article deals with the role of a philosophy of natural law in our efforts to overcome the moral crisis of democracy. Only a few years ago such a paper hardly would have found general interest. To be sure, Catholic philosophy of law, successfully resisting the trend of the times, never did abandon its philosophy of natural law. But outside of the ranks of Catholic philosophers of law the theory of natural law: was regarded as "an exploded theory, no longer accepted by any scholar of repute."
