    Abstract
Since the 1994 constitutional reform, a group of lawyers, public defenders and societal organizations have turned to the courts in search of new spaces for participation in the pursuit of social change. To this end, they have increasingly promoted public interest litigation,[1]defined as a judicial claim in the form of an individual or collective lawsuit that seeks the structural transformation of state institutions to promote the respect of rights and democratic values established in the Constitution [1] En Argentina es usual referirse a esta nueva estrategia como litigio de “derecho de interés público.” The Role of the Judge in Public Law Litigation,” 89 Harvard Law Review 1281 (1976).
