dc.description.abstract | This panel will address the relationship between a democratic regime and protest movements. Lately, the political scenario of many Latin American countries is highly determined by these movements. Basically, the question is whether these protests are compatible with a democratic government or not; and more particularly, since they are beyond the limits of legality, whether they can be justified arguing that existent democratic institutions are not a proper channel to satisfy the protesting groups' interests. | |
