Chambers, Jr., for the murder of eighteen year old Jennifer Levin in Central Park in 1986, drew national attention to a deficiency in our system of expert testimony. The testimonies of the key experts on both sides conflicted on a central factual question. The jury was confronted with an evidentiary stalemate.
