Abstract
The opinion announcing the judgment in Colegrove v. Green has sometimes been treated with a deference insufficiently shaded by recognition that the circumstances under which it was uttered deprived it of authority. This would not matter much if the opinion satisfactorily dealt with the narrower and wider issues in Colegrove. With respect, it is submitted that it did not.
