Abstract
Kenneth Mann's Defending White Collar Crime treats an aspect of law practice that every lawyer knows about, but many may fear to question- the concealing and distorting of facts so that a client avoids his just deserts under the law. This important book puts this issue in the complex context of actual practice, where such misconduct cannot be clearly distinguished, empirically or morally, from lawful tactics of the advocate. Anyone who has supposed that the solution to this problem is easy will have to think again in the light of Dr. Mann's fascinating study.
