Abstract
In order to "pursue its goal of assuring the highest standards of professional competence and ethical conduct," the American Bar Association (ABA) publishes the Model Rules of Professional Conduct. These rules form the basis for the ethical requirements imposed by many state bars, as well as states' legal regulation of the profession.
