Abstract
This Article surveys the contemporary relationship of trade and environmental policies, the emerging conflicts between the two areas, and current efforts to address and resolve these conflicts. The review reveals that trade and environmental policies can be, but are not always, complementary, and in some cases directly conflict. In this context, a number of suggestions are set forth to resolve some of these conflicts and achieve mutually reinforcing trade and environmental protection rules and policies.
