Relocated Doctrine: The Travel of the English Doctrine of Corroboration in Sex Offense Cases to Mandate Palestine

Darr, Orna Alyagon
Abstract
The explicit narrative of the British rulers of Mandate Palestine' is one of the implementation of modern criminal law and the defense of women, children, and morality. Instituting orderly and rational administration and law was part of the British imperial "civilizing mission." An examination of the mode of proof, however, as it involved the application of the corroboration rule in sex offense cases, reveals a different story.
