Abstract
Pay or subscription television (STY) is a means of providing additional and specialized programming for a fee. The FCC has never adopted an official definition of subscription television by cable, but has stated· that pay cable .is "akin to" a per program or per channel charge above the normal monthly Cable TV subscription fee.
